DFSA™ and SBS™:

Starting from concept allows you to design the requirements and testing into the product and sets the stage for a successful, pass first time through, Certification project. You identify the Standards, know what you’re designing to, pick the right materials and components, etc.

Putting the proper characteristics of materials, etc. on the drawings allows suppliers to be more accurate with their quotes. For example; for Polymeric Enclosures add the UL flame rating and Relative Temperature Index (RTI), for Terminal Blocks, Sleeving and others add the proper UL categories.

When you design the requirements into the product, first run prototypes are closer to being in compliance.

Conducting Pre-Certification construction evaluation going through the Standard paragraph by paragraph, allows you to identify non-compliances before submitting the Certification Body.

Knowing who to call is often half the battle. And, doing your homework before making the call is appreciated by all Certification Body engineers.
